Default How to get it off?

Ok, my transmission fill plug is rounded off to hell!

I need to get it out ASAP!!! I have tried vise grips, a talon wrench, even a socket... Nothing worked!

have any ideas?

This was the plug before vise grips tore the other to sides right off...

If you have a Dremel or rotary tool, use a cut-off wheel to cut a slit in the top of the bolt, then use a flathead screwdriver to break it loose like you would any other flathead screw. Make sure you don't cut too deep, or you'll end up breaking the bolt, and that's not a good thing. It's very ghetto, but it was the only thing that worked when I managed to strip a cam retainer bolt on a car I was working on.

And the, of course, replace it!

yeah, and if you cant use a grinder, get a punch, or a chisel, and tap it into the metal until it makes a groove, then use that groove to get it loose...worked so many times when dealing with drain plugs...

In the first post I stated I have less than 1" of clearance between the bolt head and the floor pan...

Yeah...First post says nothing about clearance.

Go to Sears/Home Depot/Lowes and pick up a set of the stripped bolt sockets that longfellow2 mentioned.

The smaller socket hammered on too, but that tends to damage the socket and you apparently have no clearance.
