Default First Car

Hey whats up? I am a junior in High School, I have about 1500 saved and am trying to get a car. I have a job and make about 260 a month...So i cant really make car payments or get a project car. I have enough for some small repairs and insurance and gas. If anybody knows of a good, cheap reliable car please let me know. ive searched autotrader, car mags, used car lots, tamparacing classifieds and craigslist autos....Im trying to stay around the tampa area...

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Honestly, I don't think you'll get a reliable car at $1500, even for a Honda. It starts getting better above $2000. I remember I bought a 93" Civic about 3-4 years ago for $2300 and it lasted me over a year with ZERO problems until the tranny gave out, and then I just picked up a used tranny at a junkyard for a few hundred and threw it in and it was perfect again.

Andrey69 -- I go to East Lake. With all the rich kids who cant figure out to pop their hood let alone work on a motor lol.

SDSG -- Yeah i know im not gonna find much. Im saving up all my money, trying to get the most out of what im saving.

Matter fact I kind of take back what I said. I remember I had an 86" Corolla SR5 that I got for $1500 and man did that last. I owned it for quite a while until the carbarator (I know I spelled it wrong) went on me and that was like a $400 fix. So yeah....the old Corollas are extremely reliable if you find one.

Hmm. 260 a month? Where you workin? If you want something sporty, I'd say keep ridin the bus till you have atleast 2500-3K.

why i bought my 1982 swcirocco for 800 a week ago not even running now its running and driving and i only need a fuel distributer(500$)

Well when I was looking for a car, I wanted something I would like and relatively in good condition. 2500-3000 was the bottom of LT1 Camaros, 4g Eclipse's, Talons, etc.

I mean sure if he wants a beater Corolla, or a "throw-a-way car" go for something cheaper.
