That isn't uncommon. the work vans, Chevy and ford are both pretty reliable. my dads old Chevy had almost 300k and still ran fine.

Why is it so not believable to be able to go 55K without an oil change? Motors don't just blow if you go past the recommended 3000 mile interval. I'm not saying it's good for it, but it's very possible to do.

I believe it. I had a guy at my job who bought a Ford ranger brand new i think in 88 and only changed the oil twice. all he kept doing was changing the filter.... He didnt care for the truck cause he had his caddy and another vehicle. all the truck was , was a work truck.
