I believe it. I had a 97 Chevy S10 bought new and after 140,000 miles I had only changed the oil three times. Motor still ran strong, as strong as a 4 banger can run anyway. BTW I used the cheap oil too.

The Vipers get premium and oil changes regularly. 110,000 on my 98 with no problems so far.

 

He changes his oil every 10,000 miles, but one time drove it 55,000 miles before an oil change. He adds a quart of oil with every other fill-up, however.

I guess it's semi-believable.

At my work we have a 99 e-150 V6 with 220k miles, a 01 e-250 V6 with 300k miles and another 01 with 250k miles all of them still running strong!!
