Default I Need A Wheel Specialist...Or A Locksmith?

I somehow stripped my locking lugnut, and am interested in replacing the lugnut as well as the key. Any clues on where to go? It is a factory lugnut, but I'm not sure if they carry them at the dealership.

Is there a safe way of removing the lugnut without scratching its finish?

sears sells a lug nut removal socket kit. As long as you can get the socket on their with room, it wont scratch. Just goto a parts store and buy new key kit

just hammer an almost fitting lugnut on like people said. I've done that before as well as used the lug nut removal thing. the socket worked just as well if not better. You wont be able to get the socket off though so don't use one you plan to keep

I'd like to keep the nut and the key and my sockets, if possible.

well if you buy the lug nut removal kit it also ruins the nut, but the socket is reusable....you need an air gun though. a dealership wanted 80$ to get my lug nut off....I got it off for free at home one time and for the price of the lug nut removal kit the 2nd time.

Damn, I better put my tuner key somewhere I wont lose it... my lugs on my feathers dont have enough room to get a socket in/over them.

if its a GOOD factory locking like, like the McGuard that many factories use, you won't be able to just hammer a socket on

how exactly did you strip it?

if its a McGuard lug or similar with an inscribed pattern, and you stripped the patter, i imagine you'd have to drill out the key and lug and see if you can get a vice grip on it then and turn it, but i really couldn't say, best bet i'd have to say is take it to tire kingdom or the dealer and just talk to them

Dealers don't usually sell wheel locks individually, and its luck of the draw if your old ones will fit or not

The car isn't moveable at all and won't be for quite some time!
