Those " no engine brake" signs are for semis. when u "engine brake" thats down shifting. semi trucks have real engine brakes thats called a "Jake Brake" it uses compression to slow the engine. if u think u hear semis down shifting when they stop its most likely the jake brakes
so feel free to downshift all u want in venice buddy as long as ur in a car its all good.

ever heard a semi without baffles downshift?
bwahahaha i was at a truckstop on my way orlando and some jackass truck driver came hauling ass down this road that happened to dead end at the gas station. i guess when he realized he downshifted hard and yoked the truck over, tires screeching, coming feet from my car.
shit was so much louder than my uncles old truck without baffles.
i thought his engine was about to explode or something.
i then proceeded to drift circles around his truck cab while eating my slim jim.
