Ok the other day I saw a Mustang drive by and it had tinted Tail Lights. The tint was pretty dark like almost a completely solid black. Anyways when he hit his brakes it seemed like all the Light still shined through during daylight.

To make a long story short I bought VHT NiteShade and tried to tint my Tail Lights on my Passat...but now the lights are really dim.

So I bought new Tail lights on ebay...and I was wondering if someone could point me to the right direction to where I can get these done without dimming my brake lights too much.

I went to a shop I think it was Auto Styles and they quoted me about $150 or something to get my tail lights smoked by them. I am definitely not willing to pay that much.

So if anyone has any experience with this or can tell me where I should get it done I would appreciate it a lot.

you can buy clear tailights from ebay and get the films come in different tints ive seen 10 and 35 but with clear taillights it will help a lot when they are tinted

 

the spray can style is more popular when it comes to tail lights. its called stained glass you can get it from any hobby or crafts store. as far as tint goes, why did you buy all new tail lights? you could have just peeled off the old stuff and put the new stuff on. only this time use a lighter shade tint like 30% or higher

Tinting is going to make your bulb darker any way you do it. Your best bet is to either go lighter or get some of the LED bulbs they sell that are a lot brighter.

 

tinting is also going to get you a ticket.

 

Beat me to it. I've been in a Mustang that got pulled over for it. He got a warning. I can only imagine a Passat will have done to it when it gets pulled over.
