you need a new short block that is only if you did not smash the combustion chambers on the head.

to keep your current engine..
crank will more then likely have to be turned.
new rod or rods.
block will need to bored over not sure on how much untill you tear the engine apart and inspect it.
new pistons will have to be orderd
new pan
rebuild kit
your looking at a grand for sure.

which you could get a complete used engine for that much but your engine will be brand new.
The machine shop cost would be at least a grand. Not only that, but finding a reputable machine shop is another obstacle. Not to mention cost in parts and labor. It would probably be faster and more cost efficient to just get another shortblock, and be less of a headache.

Do you know if mayyybee I could order all those parts myself, and then just give them to someone to do? Or would that be more costly?

1500 sounds about enough for one of those engines...? Might have to get a boyfriend soon so you can get some free work.

But yeah, you're going to HAVE to learn how to work on your own car and become a mini McGuyver in order to own a DSM car..

Good luck.

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.

you still have to do machine work and that is costly..

engine lab does machining..the people i use are for racing stuff and do really just racing stuff.

contact brothers racing though..they might be able to work a deal with you..

i'm a chevy guy so i dont know what engine you have..you could do a search on ebaymotors for just that engine and see what it runs for a complete one.

if you can get one shipped to you for like a grand then you will have plenty of money left over for some one to install it for you.
