Default AWD Small Block muscle car???

i know everyone here has seen some durka durr 3rd gen chevy lifted up on a trucks 4x4 drivetrain with mud tires.

71ish chevy on 33's

now my question is:

what is the possibility of a awd drivetrain being fitted in like above BUT...

having the car built for handling purposes? like, lowered, minimal sidewall tires, front and rear LSD, fully gutted/caged with an LSx? it could be used for autocross or trans-am style racing.

can it be done using some truck drivetrain?

I don't think so with a truck drivetrain...
In most trucks you are advised not to use the 4WD system on pavement, only on surfaces that allow for some give, like dirt gravel...

However, I did read a story in Chevy Hi-Po about a guy with a sprayed 5.3 in his 1500 or something along those lines and launch at the track with the 4WD on.

I guess if the front and rear have the same gear ratio and the same height tires everything would be ok...

I've actually been half thinking about getting a typhoon and putting a slammed s10 body on it. Not much of a difference, just a truck as opposed to the suv.

Not sure if there really was any older style awd cars, atleast that size. I cant quite remember.

+1 beat me to it. And as for that sprayed 5.3 1500 silverado...check out 1320video.com Jim Parish has a 04-05 silverado with a built turbo'd nitrous'd 6.0 LSx in it and he is full time 4WD-or AWD

the 5.3 are really fast it first came out in 1999-01 1500's and they discontinued it then put the regular 4.8 in the 02-0x But all i know is they brought back the 5.3 and put it in the new Chevy trucks...These motors haul ass kept up with a 01 GT one time

All you need to do is go to your local Dodge dealer and order a new Dodge Charger RT with AWD and the 340 HP 5.7L Hemi.
