The v6's are prone to the similar intake manifold coolant leaks as older 3.? gm motors.I have ordered at least 10 gasket sets with revised bolts for the ls's from ford.Mexicans dont try to look like pimps we are.Julian will blend right in since he looks 99% mexican.
best info some one posted ( from a different forum )

If your looking get one with the Sport suspension (has color matched bumpers with no chrome) which usually comes with a sunroof, the audiophile stereo and the manumatic shifter gimmick. They also came with Heated and Cooled seats and they run damn good. The 03 and up V8 has 280hp and you can put a K&N and some exhaust to get it up around 300hp. The handling is superb for a 4 door, the V8 is almost perfectly balanced 52/48 and the V6 is like 51/49, they are actually a blast to autocross as well.
The V8 is also the Jaguar motor the V6 is the standard Ford Duratec motor. The V8 is smooth, very smooth. For the price its hard to beat the options and if you get a newer one that is certified you get a 6 year 100,000 mile warranty.
Hope that helps

After the first couple years they were fine no more issues then any other car.
I have always thought they were great cars. I did some research last year but didnt pull the trigger. "IIRC" stands for "if I recall correctly."

i was dead set on getting one when i was looing for a new car, my friend was a mechanic at a dealership and told me they were a pos cleaned up ford. aparently the older models had many problems..i also heard the newer ones fixed the problems but back then i was looking to get a car cash and the 00-01 were in my budget. i really dont like the fact that their re-sale value decreases so much i was looking at the v6 for around $10,000 asking price. to me there nice looking cars but i want dependability so i ended up with a new altima.
