And its leaking coolant worse than an early 90s Chevy. So, like I said, get used to your rotary blowing up.

Coolant seal, you say? Bah, lemmie pull up a diagram and check it out myself. Never hurts to learn something new.

I wonder why i'm the only one asking this but if it's a NEW motor shouldn't it be warranteed? Why don't you just carry it back to the guy who built it and have him diagnose the problem. I mean not insulting you but you don't seem to know a whole lot about rotaries but then again not much people do. If I were you and i just spent all that money on a brand new motor w/ 0 miles on it and after only 3k it's acting funky like that.......i'd carry back to the guy who built it..... If you screw around and try to fix something yourself and screw it up worse then the guy might not want to warrantee your stuff.....

A performance motor with a warranty after 3,000 miles?

Never bought one personally but I thought it was at least like 5k for a new motor. I mean he didn't say rebuilt or "certified" used he said brand spanking new, which means zero miles never even been driven.... Cruising ebay it looks like you're paying at least 2500 bucks for a decently used one....so i'd imagine for his it was well above 3k after labor and all that.....with only a 3k warranty......wow if that's the trade-off to driving a fast car i'll just stick to my integra

Well, I dunno what he got for sure, but when you get a hardcore motor built I've never heard of it coming with a warranty. I mean, its built for something that will actually void your manufacturer's warranty if they find otu you've been doing it (beating the living piss out of an engine and racing with it).

See, now my Ferd...I tore down adn built that motor in my brother's garage with shop tools and a few cans of Wd40!

Oh....ok I was under the impression he just got a brand new 13b TT motor i didn't realize it was a performance built motor. Yeah you're right they generally don't come with warranties attached. I always wondered how I would handle if I had an expensive ass car that was acting up......I have a cousin who bought a 2000 M3 private sale that was in immaculate condition and blew the engine in less than 5k miles. He must've spent more than 6k getting another engine in it........NOW he keeps 5k in a savings account that he never touches just for oil changes/routine maintenance/disaster control and such.
