Need some help!
My headlight covers flew off on the highway a few weeks back, and i finally ordered some new ones. The only thing is they are not painted.... ive never done anything as far as painting exterior parts, etc... what do you guys think i should do? Spray paint? or what... i plan on getting my car painted next year so i dont wanna waste my money and just get the headlight covers painted... let me know what u think i should do. Thx -Eric

Rattle canning it will probably be your best bet.

+1, and if you want it to look good:
Sand them with a fine grit paper
Primer them
Rattle can
Rattle can clearcoat
That should look good enough until you get the car painted.

It shouldn't be much at all to just get some headlight covers painted.... especially since they are already removed. I would just get them painted properly the first time. If you rattle can them, you are just gonna waste time removing that paint when its time to paint the whole car.

I say rattle can for the time being. You can go to just about any automotive store and get color match paint in a can. Follow the steps above and you'll be set!

Just got them in today... can you go into more detail exactly, such as what type of grit paper, primer etc... ive never done any cosmetic work before and i want it to look good... thx!

good choice on the spray paint, UNLESS, you know someone who can paint themselves, or you can get your hands on a spray gun, its not that hard to do it yourself if you get the right tools, if you cant do that spray paint it, as im sure you know going to a shop will cost like 300ish atleast to get them colormatched. and if its not colormatched itll prolly look just like spraypainting it.
