just use carb cleaner . melts everything off. then rinse with simple green

Engine cleaner is simply diesel gas... Use brake or carb cleaner. Then rinse away with simple green and water after.

I concur on the plastic grocery store bags. I even pack one inside the distributor..........remove it before starting! Bag that alternator just in case, and all the other stuff they said.-Bob

I blow off the dist wires at both ends with my air tank.

Grease Lightening is good stuff.
I covered up important stuff with plastic bags
Sprayed the entire engine compartment with Greased Lightening and let it sit for about 30 min or so, then hosed it off regular hose pressure, nothing too forceful and the engine looked brand new.
Best thing about it, it's biodegradable.
