His setup, I don't know, but all in all its not that expensive and people have been doing it for a while now. The motors are not expensive, but the inverter/controller, batteries, fabrication for battery racks, etc, can add up quickly. The lighter the car the smaller the motor you can purchase and the fewer batteries necessary.
