Haters.
The whole smaller engine is out of place with the prelude... I cant see some-one putting a b18c motor in it, it just wouldnt work, the little extra TQ that the H22 has does wonders for the car. and how the hell is an all aluminum engine too heavy? If you know what your doing most of problems listed can be fixed. anyways its not the worlds best motor, and if anything a K24 would be a killer swap for the car.
and the car(4th gens) weigh about the same as my car which isnt heavy by a long shot..

At 2850 lbs. as one of the above posted, it weighs more than my Civic. I weighed my car on a public scale that has to be checked every year for accuracy otherwise the company gets charged fines. I also checked my 240 before. My 240 weighed right around 2400 lbs. and the Civic was at 2750 lbs.
For this car and the motor, that much weight is too much for a dinky little 1.7 liter sohc, especially being FWD. The same applies to the prelude. With that much weight, there is simply not enough power there for it.

the h22 is a big motor compared to the b18 b16 etc... but it also has a lot more stock tq then the smaller motors honda produces. my overall goal is a fully built n/a k24 swap into my jdm lude. i think that motor is amazing and will do wonders in a bb chassis. stock for stock though comparing the prelude vtec to any of the civics and all the tegs except maybe the type r... it is faster and probably handles a ton better (remember i am saying stock for stock). i do agree that the lighter hondas have an advantage but it is a slight advantage given it isnt far off (weight wise from tegs and civics) (mine probably weighs the same). and in my opinion... considering what people think about it these days it will be even MORE impressive to see a "heavy" prelude beat the high powered v8s when built right. there are 2 streetable ludes on honda-tech on the west coast that are running 10's and lower. one of them was built within a few months by the owner himself if im not mistaken.
im just saying that i believe the prelude is under estimated and over looked. it has a descent platform with the h22 and can really put down good numbers and good times when done properly... just like any other honda. im glad they arent as popular though, makes my car just that much more unique/original

if they gave it more power, which i do agree that they should have but the problem with that is that it may of taken business away from the nsx which didnt come with more than 300hp... so a prelude with say 250 hp compared to a $70,000 dollar acura/honda with 290 i mean which is the better bargain.
orlando sucks and preludes are wonderful.... your decision making is horrible, lol. you need to keep the lude and stay in st pete/tampa area...

But the NSX did make 270 bhp in 1991, and went out of production in 2006 with 290 bhp.
Though comparing the horsepower benchmarks between the FF Prelude and the MR NSX is like comparing HP between a Hayabusa and a Hyundai.
