Why do they bother? nizmoZ
So my views may be very differant because I actually prefer Nissans, but the way I see it is that yeah I do agree the Nismo Z should have at least had a power upgrade, more so then just styling. But at the same time, they are said to produce a small number of the GT-S, and also not to mention have the GTR coming out, all within the next two years. They don't want to keep building up the power on an "old" style car when a new product will be coming out. Simply because if the horsepower is so close together, but the price tag is 30k apart, it won't do anything for their sales but bring them down. Also though, the Nismo Z was really meant for the Nissan LOVERS. The people who know the history, want all Nissan names on their vehicle etc., the junkies. Those people may be willing to pay 40k. Someone brought up for that price they can get, I think a stang was said. Personally I would never pay that much money for a Mustang, I would consider it for a Nissan, but again it all depends on the individual.

It's about time for the 370Z. 330 HP+ fatter torque band+ new styling would make the car fresh again. Probably will be here in another year or two. In that vein, how many worthless "special edition" Mustangs have there been at the end of Mustang product cycles? Bullitt Mustang is a good example.
03 to 04 went from the F20 to the F22, it only revved to 8, but made 10 more lbs of TQ with a different TQ curve
i know its not much but...it is, but to be fair, the S only comes in one trim level, comparing apples to apples
