Things have changed out at the street races. F&F was part of the problem and I'm sure you can pull up post from back when it came out about us bitching about it.. It is what it is now. I went out a few months back after not being out there for years. I don't drive mostly because I didn't trust the other drivers out there. I'd have to say it was somewhat a clusterfuck and there was an crash on CCC involving some civic. I can't tell people not to street race since I would sometimes race many times in one night. When I was racing it was much, much safer then it is now. Once F&F came out I was still street racing at the time and a few new race spots started showing up. I would never race at these spots knowing the danger. 78th street, Tampa West, and that street by the railroad track are a few horrible places that people would race at that I wouldn't. I remember if someone showed up at the street races drinking, people would almost force that group to leave telling them they were not wanted. People driving like asses were told to leave. I"m abit upset at what the Tampa scene has become since I enjoyed the time I had out there. I met alot of good people and had a ton of fun. If you go out there I'm sure you know the guys that come out and do things that cause threads like this. Its really a shame.. It is really interesting to me how a movie can have such a huge impact on something.

 

And what are we doing here? We are trying to do something about it. Discussion about problems is on of the first steps. Would you like me to go out to CCC on a saturday night and hold up a banner that says "Go Somewhere Else"?

Realistically, I do what I can, which is to get through to people through this site. It's not just 'typing words'.

I was an admin of this site. I have Street Raced. I have even street raced John (another current Admin and founding Admin). We all did it, thats what brought this site together. We didn't have a mission statement for the first year. We are human, we are not perfect...but over the years, we've seen the devistation, we've seen the problems. Now we are more mature, and have a better grasp of the situation. Now we are powerful enough to organize track days. Out of bad comes something good.

I disagree. CCC and Gandy are notorious for accidents. CCC is notorious for SERIOUS ACCIDENTS. This is regardless of street racing being invloved. Back in the day, I used to hang out in parking lots @ Gandy and Westshore, or Miami Subs, or Wal-Mart, or Best Buy till late at night. There were never accidents in front of those places while we were there.

I'm not saying 'Don't hang out'...I'm saying 'Don't hang out at CCC'

Underage drinking, drug use, moronic driving, random acts of violence by tough guys and the chance to get harassed by the cops.................... can someone remind me why one would care to go out there?

 

honestly you know you guys are just waisting your "breathe" when you say no one should go there etc.. we all know its not going to stop regardless to what you say here. its not going to make people stop going there. its not just ccc and gandy where shit happens i was on 4th st and a guy slowed down shot a some bullets in the air then a car slammed in the back of it. and they had nothgin to do with the racing. its going to continue to happen... and the post about people dont die at the track is bs.... just isnt as common as on the street but shit happens its something we face everyday... you can trip and hit your head and die...

 

that bull yes people die at the tracks that a fact of life but i rather crash at a place thats ment to have car drive fast and require me to wear safety garb
and if i do crash i can get to ems there faster and be there with people that are trained to help me in that place !!!

theres no good reason to street race it dosn't cost much to go do at a track most people i know spend more on going out to dinner !!

and yes you can trip and die but why throw your life away at some stupid street when you can go to a track and go fast safely !!

 

1st off this is not bg-33p_hatch, this is his older brother hope he dont get pissed about me doin this. Heres my take on thing why is it the city and states will put in funds to build new skate parks,basket ball courts, baseball feids, volley ball, hell even street hockey, but we cant fund a race track. Not all kids play sports, but racing in our society is considerd a sport matter a fact its becoming the largest events anywhere. We need to catch up with the times so these kids and future kids who love cars and love compition can have more than 2-3 places to go in a 75 mile radious. And lets face it the people out at bradenton and clearwater there serious adults with seriuos money in there cars they really dont want these kids cloging up the track. Thats why we need more options for these kids, and no thats not the "reason" these 2 young lives were taken from us but just a idea of maybe how we can prevent it from happening to another life.

As for Robert he was a person that no matter how long he was in your life you will never forget him. He had an effect on people unlike anything Ive ever seen you just couldnt help but smile around him he wouldnt let you. Robert was a great friend,great employee and he will forever be rememberd and never replaced, Rob youll always have a spot here in blg# 15.

maybe petition to have a track made for free or close to it. because even though its cheap street racing is free not everyone has money

 

I honestly avoid those areas as much as possible. I will drive out of my way to another road if I am on my home at the hours the people are at CCC or Gandy.

I have made the mistake once or twice just driving by to go home and have always been very close to getting hit by some stupid kid doing something he is not susposed to do.

I will never go to that place and while I know there are a few that try and be good and have respect. There is a lot more jackass out there that have no common sense and are just flat out dumb.

It's pretty sad that people need to find an alternative road home because there is so many stupid kids there playing in the road.
