DUI again...and again...and again...
there is honestly not enough enforcement of the DUI laws. i had a coworker of mine get a DUI years ago. between the 2-3 months it took him to finally get to court for his case, he drove around on a susp. license. then when it was susp. for a year (1st offense), he still drove to work. he actually got a hardship license for work (even tho he only lived about 2 miles and could have bought a bike), but ended up driving everywhere (even worse, is he drove a "look at me" yellow xterra, very few of those around).
he eventually got the ignition/key breather mechanism on it but by then he had his license back.
DUI 1st offense should be to impound the car, or have it sold off. take that money, buy them a bike with a basket on the front, use the car money to pay for their court costs and such, and they are not allowed to drive for that 1 year, nor are they allowed to buy a car or register one. this way, they also save some money on gas and insurance which can be saved up for later (because yes people do make mistakes and get DUIs the first time), and they get some exercise on their new bicycle or have to deal with getting rides. they will actually LEARN their lesson. fuck hardship licenses. getting up early to catch the bus is just more incentive to 'learn your lesson'.
2nd offense DUIs shouldn't even happen to be honest. those should be long jail time, and no driving....for 5 years or maybe just go with the revoke thing. no 3 strikes, one chance to learn your lesson, or no more driving...ever. but then again our jails are overcrowded and our justice system is slow and lenient, so i guess we'll just have to be aware of our surroundings and hope to try not to get taken out by these people.

true, but i still file this under the DUI portion, it is the underlying cause of it all. granted, he could have done this totally sober.
now that i think of it, i almost wish he was sober, because had it just been a "street racing" incident (street racing being him 'racing himself/exhibition of speed', and reckless driving), he'd probably get a harsher sentence than he will with the current one.

im still trying to figure out if i ever met him, there could have been a chance he came to the lakeland meets or not? he sounds familiar to me but either way im sorry.
You and me both I can barely leave my house without breaking down...Coming to his house this morning almost killed me. I am sorry I havent been around as much as you think I should but this is hard on me also, I always thought he was invincible and would never get hurt but because of some drunk dumbass I lost me best friend that was like a brother to me. 7 1/2 years is along time to just let go of now. If you want to talk we can just get floyd to give you my number. We will get through this sometime I just still am all Blurry.

Garnishing wages won't stop drunk driving or any other crime, but at least the victims will get something out of it.

I would edit the phone number if I were you. PM the number to the person you want to have it.
