5w-50 if I could ever find it, this was in my old bmw, and this is what my buddy always ran in his chevy 350's.

This shit made those engines run like hell, 300rpm's lower at cruising, I got roughly 5mpg better running 5w-50 over 10w-30. And his nova was getting about 30mpg running this stuff.

And yes, thicker shit is a TON better if your vehicle leaks a lot of oil, on so many instances I've seen the leak actually stop from using thicker oil.

i use mobil 1 5w 30 synthetic, with a can of restore(8 cyl formula) every 3000 miles...

10w 30 valvoline Used to always use synthetic in my DSM's but I would never use synthetic unless you start using it within the first 15k miles on the engine life. I would never switch to synthetic on a higher milage motor.

Redline 5W30 will be going into the S2k and I ran that in my MINI as well. I've read that it is comparable to a 10W30 in viscosity. Makes everything run olive oil smooth.
