Default Scuderi Engine Design

They just came out with a patent for this engine like 3 months ago. It looks pretty badass if you ask me. "Internal Supercharging"

i am not the most educated on engines, but i really dont see the point in adding the extra complexity (sp?). will this sort of design make that much more RELIABLE power then a standerd i4-v6-v8 eect

according to them 33-40% more efficient and 80% cleaner.. thats pretty nice if it works like they say.

interesting concept, split the 4 cycles into 2 lots of 2 cycles and "pre" compress the air in one cylinder bank before putting it in for combustion.

This is another examples of engineers with no real world experience designing engines-

This thing would suck in SO many ways-Trust me guys, if it was that damn good, it'd be in use already. I get sent 3 or so designs a month on average, and the all lack the mechanical simplicity, reliability, or BSFC potential of a good ol 4stroke. Do yall realize the most efficient ICE's on earth are prostockers, comp eliminator and cup motors?

Sure and the cost how much money too produce and make how many passes down 1/4 mile? I thought 2stroke motors were the most effecient ICE because of simplicity and its only power and exhuast stroke.

I dont see how this motor is so complex. It looks like a pretty simple design to me. Its just something different. And I dont see how a brand new motor design makes it from RaD to prodution in such a short term on a large scale.

i dont really care if this motor ever really gets implemented. i just think its an awesome design. if you watch the video on the site, they claim to be able to create wicked amounts of compression. Hot compressed air just sounds like predetonation. plus i didnt really understand how the fuel injection works. if its in the compression or in the combustion cylinder, and if injectors squirt fuel into the compression cylinder, how efficiently does that fuel reach the combustion chamber? lots to think about

with 2 air compressed cynliners and 2 combustion chambers cold, hot, cold hot. If pistons change size when they warm up would that cause problems with the air compressed cylinders? oil leaks?
