Default The "Automatic"

If you get beat by a fast automatic do you give them the same respect as a 5spd driver?Everybody seen fast auto muscle cars but i seen a video of a 9sec auto supra and there are some fast auto g35's out and about.

Does it make a difference?A win is a win right?

I would. I just wouldn't buy one. Takes the fun out of driving. Just my $.02

Alls I have to say is an automatic with a good shift kit and a transbrake in a car with real power will outdrag a manual any day of the week.

yep, also, not all manauls are 5 speeds...

edit: I do give some props to guys with sub 10 second manual cars though, I mean shifting must suck. In a flat 9 second car, with a 5spd you would have to shift ever 1.8 seconds

The smart street racer owns an auto

One that is properly set-up will give quicker shifts with less power loss-and clutches cant multiply torque like a 'verter can. Save you $ in the long run too.

(Even a stock auto is still better IMO)

Sure, I have plenty of respect for capable automatics.

But I still don't want one.

I posetd that and realized that both cars in my sig are sticks. The prostocker is a 5sp Jerico(think liberty-just better) and the promod is a 3sp lenco with a hayes 10"2-disc

if they built it, sure, I'd have plenty of respect. If they didn't build it, and they didn't shift it, no respect.

On the same token, i'll race any automatic in the turns and I'm willing to bet the outcome would be much different
