well..the skyline isnt based on sheer power
it's the attessa awd system that makes up for it

Id' like to see the 2nd. Is someone's going to come out in an OMFG SKYRINE for 70k I'd hope it would show tail-lights to a lot of the people out there. 360 tq...thats so pitiful I don't know where to start. I mean I know its by no means a drag car..but still...out of that motor I'd hope for at LEAST 400tq and 500hp.

 

i'm thinking if it comes out with more power, it'll be a limited edition and prob be even more money.

At which time it'll cease to compete with the 11 second Z06 and start competing wth The new Viper that has to be damn near a 10 second car. Not to mention what the Asian import world has to compete with that...Err....it just slips my mind right now what to bring up about that point.

But yeah, more money and they're going to have to tangle with some nasty Porsches and the Viper. I think they need to try to Eclipse the power barrier of the 60k cars first.

 

I don't see it getting cheaper unless it gets uglyer and slower.. And I don't see it getting faster unless they up the price tag.. In actuality I think it will be just like that but with a bigger price tag.. Automakers almost never lower the msrp.. It will only go up. Not really a great bang/buck factor. Just my speculations though

 

I think one thing some of you may have over-looked might be the HP rating. I'm really hoping that for the $70k price tag this car is supposed to carry with it that they might have "slightly" under-quoted their HP/TQ ratings. If it's anything like the new 330i TT or the C6 Z06 I would expect no less than a 20-40hp mistake in the ratings(which is what I'm hoping for anyway). Let's also not forget that by the looks of this 'beauty' she's going to weigh a ton....well 2+ tons for that matter so her 450bhp rating won't be all that exciting in a car pushing close to 4500lbs with driver. I also would like to see what these cars can do once people get them out on the road and free up the exhaust and turn the dial up another few PSI.

C6 Z06 killer this car ain't, but I'm sure with a few cheap mods it'll be a nice comfy low 12 second car. That will cost you almost the price of an equally nice high 10 second Z06.

 

Err, gonna have to disagree with ya there. First, because I don't care what you do to this thing. If it retains that look it'll never be equally as nice as a Z06. Also, beacuse 70k + mods would be more than a Z06. But I don't want to get hung up on one car because I don't want to turn this into a 'car vs. car' debate. I just think its overpriced for what it delivers.

 

Well then don't disagree with me, we both have the same opinion! I agree with you fully that this car(for the price) is not and will not be as nice as the new Z06. That car is just a bad mother fucker...period. If Nissan was smart they would lower the price to around $55-65,000 if they wanted to truely compete with the Z06/Viper market and do well. Performance wise I just don't see this car living up to it's price tag without throwing some money at it(exhaust, DP's, BC, etc).

Either way C6 Z06 > Nissan GTR (for the moment)
