Default Dumb tire question...flame on

How much of a tire difference is it between theses two tires:

215/45/17 (current tires on my rims)

225/50/17 (set up on rims I may trade for, same backspacing as my rims)

10mm wider, about 5% more overall diameter (~16mm). Your speedo will read about 5% slower.

So not too much bigger that would cause serious rubbing issue?

Stock height? No rubbing issue... 215's is a little beefy though isn't it? Mine comes with 195's stock which is a little strange but you're going higher?

check all your clearences

stock height?
and how much clearance do you have with your tire/suspension parts

like he said, they'll be 10mm wider then what you have on now, and a bit taller, i can never remember

and too beefy?

You think thats crazy???

I have to figure out how I'm going to fit 225/50/16s on a car meant for 185/60/14s!

Width is fine, its height...
