get some fab work and make that bitch a mid engine rear wheel drive, not only would you get props for a badass setup (400whp on a b-series is a hell of an accomplishment) but you'll have one of the most unique "FWD" cars around.

I understand what your actually trying to say about the different races being tailored to different venues....but if you like to race from a roll find a track long enough for the race but don't be an ass clown and street race. Keep it at the track or when you crash and burn hope I am not around cause all I am gonna do is point and laugh at your skreet racing ass.....then when I get done laughing maybe I can "find" my cell phone to call for help.

If you're not into drag racing and don't want to set your car up for it, it's much easier to race a car from a roll just to see whose is faster, without driver and rubber factors coming into play.

If you want to compare whose got the better engine without things like SKILL or the rest of the car coming into play then just get an engine dyno and paste it to your window....the one with the highest numbers wins. But that wouldn't account for the transmision differences, and the weight to power ratio that is still in effect with a roll race.

I suspect that a roll race is more of an attempt at taking away the disadvantage of a fwd low torque 4cyl motor....and take away the disadvantage of the owner not having the money to make a CAR that is better, but rather just enough allowance from mom and dad to modify the motor.

It may sound like I am bashing on the "ricer" type cars, so let me clarify. My last 3 cars were hondas (current car is a 95 Camaro Z2, and all of them were modded to some extent whether it was just I/H/E or full blown turbo setup. So I know you can get tq and hp out of a 1.6/1.8 ltr 4 banger, and with the lower weight they can keep up with the high hp/tq v8's that have a fat ass. I also know there are some young punks who drive v8's and the only reason they aren't mullet wearing, Iroc driving rednecks is because they are too young to know what a mullet is So, NO, I don't think all young "ricer" punks drive imports and only mature "adults" drive domestics, I realize that idiots drive every type of car.......but just like motorcycles where the vast majority of squids are on sport bikes, MOST of the idiocy seen on the street is from tuner cars. Anyways I think I have strayed far enough off topic so back to the point.........

I am for racing from a dig AT THE TRACK ONLY since it takes an all around skill and a better overall car than a roll racer. Plus Roll racing can currently be done only on the street which automatically eliminates it as a choice since racing on the streets is reserved for those that are only alive because technology has all but eliminated natural selection. Anyone with a car that is in decent running condition, and a Nitrous kit, can race from a roll. It takes more knowledge, skill, time, and investment to be successfull at racing from
0-holy shit.

Dig... rolls are for people who don't know how to keep their power to the ground. I said it in the other thread, if you have such said horsepower and you can't keep it on the ground then you wasted your money. Having 400+ hp and getting no traction = fail. Because it won't help you at the track and last time I checked back in the 90's street racing was done from a dig. Whats this roll racing garbage that people think is street racing now-a-days. Seriously in the earlier 90's there was no excuses like I hear today. You can afford to make your car 300+ hp but can't afford to get the right tires? That makes no sense. You run on street tires, you get no traction thats your own fault. Its not an excuse for losing a race. You bring what you got, you got wheel spin... no traction... your fault.

If you lose a race take it like a man, don't make excuses like...
I didn't have any traction
I'm on street tires
I missed a gear
I didn't "brake boost"
My clutch is going

You know why dig racing is better because for the most part someone lines up both cars and arms raised... drop and go. There's no excuses like...

We weren't lined up
You went on the 2nd horn beep
I wasn't in the right gear
You took the jump
You took off early

Racing in general... is done from a dig not a roll. Thats how come there's so much BS now-a-days and pety excuses because of this roll racing non-sense.

i'm all for dig racing. the only times i've ever street raced was from a stop at a red light. i also suck from a dig. as most of you know it's hard to keep the tires from spinning with any kind of power. when my car had a 3.15 rear gear i had a hard time spinning the wheels. i beat a few cars that where a lot faster because they spun and i hooked. now that i have a hard time hooking. i need to learn some skill to be quick.

put me is a low 10's car and i would run 11's or 12's. i just don't have the skills yet. i fall asleep at the light and spin like mad.

i'd rather lose to a slower car with a better driver than to roll race and win. drag racing isn't only about how fast your car will go. it's about your skill as a driver. that's why bracket racing is so huge. you don't have to have a fast car you just have to be a good driver. but a quick car does make it a lot more fun.

for me the best part of drag racing is the launch, first gear and feeling second slam. i feel roll racing takes 99% of the fun out of racing.

i dont care all that much either way, but when 2 cars are racing for fun, i dont see any harm to do both dig AND roll races to see what theyre really made of.

I cant believe all you guys are ripping on roll racing. It's a much better race. I mean the driver really comes out in a roll race. You gotta find the right gear to start in, wait for 3 beeps, and FLOOR it. If you can do that, then ur a fucking pro. You guys wont learn to love roll racing until you can master the art of it like I have..

well now that i think of it if u race from a dig on the street you usually alway roll race the same person 2 mins later so with a dig u dont have one with out the other its like an added win depending on the car if that makes sense to any one else
