Default how in the hell do you miss a shift.

i was just reading war storys and all i see is, i missed third or i missed second or i missed fourth. i've never missed a gear in my life. i've never seen the wife miss a gear before. i've never seen anyone miss a shift before. the wife wanted to race the javelin (she only had it a week) so i told her she couldn't until she got use to shifting it at 5200r's. since with that cam, that's when she needs to shift. so we leave port richey and go to saint pete. the hole way there and back she was shifting bewteen 4800 and 5200r's. not one missed shift and this is with a 35 year old trans and shifter. the shifter and trans need to be rebuild bad.

our truck is a stick 5 speed. we've had it for 8 years now. not one missed shift. you can shift the newer car with one finger.

i use to drive a 85 dodge dayton turbo. i beat the hell out of it. the thing just about shifted it's self. i never missed a shift.

my mother use to have a 65 pontiac bonneville 455 with a 4 speed and she use to power shift it (didn't use the clutch when shifting). i never even seen my mother miss a shift before. a lot of her cars where stick cars too.

i know a few guys that drag race stick cars and they shift into second while the wheels are still in the air.

how the hell do people keep missing shifts?

its because they don't know how to drive, and never learned. They just in in their slow civics and think they just know how to drive. Some guy at my work was trying to teach me to drive stick in a new focus a while back, and he kept shifting from second to first, and he seriously thought he was going into third even though it was practically at redline, he kept saying oh im just shifting too early. No, your just not going in the right gear.

the second stick car I ever drove was a infiniti g35 6spd, and I wasn't real good at driving yet, i ripped it through the gears about as fast i could, and still didn't miss a shift. Anyone who can possibly miss, just sucks at driving.

I've missed plenty of shifts in my years, but by my own admission, I was probably trying to do too much, and my technique used to be quite poor. Now that I've learned how to properly hold a shifter (instead of grappling it like my wang) I've not missed a shift - in years.

Turbo daytona. ive driven one of those torque-steer machines. Wow that was scary, especially with 13 pounds of boost.

ricer excuse for teh loose?

i have because my synchros are going, and i try and do it wussy and just don't get it in all the way, but i rarely do it, but on the course, on the strip, just plain ripping through the gears(doesn't do much but hey) and i've never missed a shift in that scenario, only when i'm lazy

Boy, I used to think the same as you.

Then I got a T5.

Lost 2 Steeda Tri-Ax shifter auctions so far.
