Default Kerosene Flush.

Anyone heard of it or ever tried it...for those that haven't I've read online reports from people that have drained maybe a quart or two from their engines and then replaced it with kerosene and fired it back up to only let it idle to let it clean. Drain and replace with new oil.

Anyone??

I would jack up the car, pull the oil pan, clean it inside, replace with a
new oil pan gasket, and add clean oil and a filter before I would put
kerosene through the oil passages and bearings.

I also put computer magnets on the side of my oil filters
to pull any fine, fine, steel particles out of oil as it
filters...................and I replace filters 1/2 way between
oil changes.
--------------------
I have cut filters apart to see how well they are working,
and to see how they are made. In the discussion between
Fram and Purolator, Purolator is definitely built better.

If you want to donate a filter for research purposes, next time
you change one, we can take it apart and look at it.-Bob

never done it with straight kerosene. They sell a 5 minute flush at parts stores, it smells like a mix of kerosene and atf fluid.

dropping a pan is alright, but they are a lot of motors that is really almost impossible to do, plus it never cleans the lifter valleys, top of the head and etc.
