Dont spend alot of money on a floor jack, but use jack stands or expect death.

Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

Thats the one I have, great jack for the price. I dont like the Sears one you posted because it has a very small contact pad and the wheels on those jacks tend to not roll when jacking. There are Harbor Freight stores local, easy to pick one up.

As stated above, use jack stands if you are going to be under the vehicle. Any jack can fail......

no, as stated, you only need the jack to LIFT it, not to HOLD it

You NEVER EVER work on a car supported by a floor jack only. To do so is...reckless to say the least. Harbor freight has 6-ton jack stands for like 20 bucks for 2. And 100 should net you a dependable floor jack.

+1 JoeBob
Harbor Freight has nice aluminum floor jacks in the $80 range...

Stay away from those small-pad $20 jacks. The metal keeps getting thinner and the strength suffers. When the car falls off the jack on the way up, and the jack goes through your radiator, and you had a date with a hot chick that night, you will recall Senor Honda's words.............
and please, no jokes about "jacking off"......... -Bob

Get some jack stands also.
Costs less than the car falling on your nuts!

The one I posted is 3" minimum pad height. Was one of the lowest I could find. I had 2" drop springs on my Civic, worked fine.
