We all come born into this world with 0 real knowledge about cars, and we all learn on the way - thats why I'm helpful to the newbs
What are some of the general things you have learned while working on or with cars? I have quite a few
Turbo timers are the greatest fleecing ever. You don't need them on water cooled turbos, or any turbo really, if you can just not go 100mph and then turn the car off. Drive easy that last mile, simple as that.
The greatest tuner in the world cannot tune around sub par parts. Buy the best and buy only once.
K.I.S.S. - keep it simple, stupid
Ratcheting wrenches greatly increase the thickness of your skin on your knuckles - everyone should own them.
What have you learned?

Or just make sure your cash can back up the credit card. patience sucks sometimes, but better than frustration later. i think we've all been there.
-do one job at a time. don't skip around (unless it is a project car that gets to spend weeks in the garage). if one job requires another to get to it, plan on that, do the harder one first.
-keep track of everything. even a simple task can leave you with extra bolts. it might be okay sometimes, but that damn dashboard rattle that develops 3 months later will annoy the fuck out of you.
