and regardless of what kind of speed your car (or anyone elses for that matter) may be able to hit on the straights I doubt it is going to decelerate or corner as fast...and that is what makes that experience so unique.
a spolier increases drag and will only make it harder to reach those kinds of speeds.

Driving definitions: Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
I didn't see where the article said anything about 200mph but I'm pretty sure the only ALMS cars that might be able to do 200 on a typical circuit would be the LM-P1 class and I doubt any of them hit 200 at Laguna.

and actually a spoiler can either reduce lift or reduce drag - not both - front spolier can keep the front down - to much rear without commensurate front can make for an unstable car.

The purpose of the spoiler would e to keep my ass on the ground so i can actully hit those speeds. As some of yall might not relize since it seems to be a trend around here to put them on FWD cars, Spoilers are made for RWD/AWD cars b/c when there ass starts lifting off the ground they cant go anywhere. It doesnt require 600hp to get a car to go 200mph. and theres a big diffrence in 180 and 200. Roughtly it takes 15% more hp for every 10miles over 70 that was required to get to 70.
ideally you would want to use it with a spliter (a spoiler on the front) to help balance the car
