wow, im surprised at all the banter about this in here. I would also have to say the 4g63 is probably the most venerable 4cyl out there, its a tank of a motor, esp. for its time and longevity. I think the argument about low to high 6's is valid. Its one hell of a hit even to go low 9's from high, dont forget the magnitude of power they make to begin with, however, i could see the argument as that the 122 odd cu.in 4g is doing well considering its being compared to a motor with most likely and additional 300+ cubic inches! I agree that its impossible to beat sheer size, however, its getting to the point where things arent too out of reach for each and any of the average consumer.

I hate to sidetrack so much, but i love the interior battle threads, the shit makes me laugh uncontrollably. A few friends have had plenty of domestic product, including ME with my F-250 Powerstroke. Lets never compare FORD and GM stuff to anything japanese in the same price range again PLEASE. MY truck has AWFUL build quality, and as much as I love it, I have to admit is a BIG POS! I do, and will always have more faith in my 95 toyota and its build quality, and guess what, they both stickered within 3k of each other new! Also, i have been in numerous other ford products with a SLEW of problems, not just a few, and I am not the only one with a shitbox 6liter. Ever sat in a trailblazer? Thats cool that all the buttons on the radio and center dash loose the paint, along with the dash in under 20k miles! Also cool that the speakers are already failing, along with crackling from the key in tone! I can produce a SHIT TON of info for those that like that debate, but i promise, i can win! The domestics, like GM, FORD etc. are NOT just flailing due to the UAW, and if you dont believe it, I will gladly link the ford truck site im on, so you can take a look at the ford truck problems.

Again, sorry about the sidetrack, im off to listen to the radio in my 50k truck with the sunroof open. Wait, the wind deflector is broken and so is my radio for the 4TH time! Hopefully it starts today so i can get out tonight, or maybe the crank position sensor will be bad for the 5th time... I loved the truck, it looks nice as far as im concerned, and i obviously liked it enough to spend the money on it, but ill be damned if it wasnt the worst descision ever. Not only is it crap, the service from the dealers AND ford has been pathetic, and my story isnt far from one of my friends with a Duramax GMC.... Had any of you met me in the past 6 months you would swear i dont sleep at night because of my truck... I will most likely never buy another ford.

Again, sorry, 4g36 FTW, take care...

Mark

A lot of what you said may be factual but it's stupid to compare a truck interior to a Supra's...

the answer is none of the provided options.

the best 4 cylinder engine ever went into the porsche 968 turbo S.

369ft-lbs torque, 305HP. stock. most powerful factory, production 4 cylinder i know of (don't say the lotus esprit S4S, because that engine made 25HP and 69ft-lbs less).

Well, in stock form I'd have to say most impressive right thurr.

BTW, since you all compared the 4g63 (best import) to an LS1 (run of the mill domestic) I'd just like to note that the BADDEST v8s actually run in the 3s. Just some food for thought, and a hope that I might spark something interesting in this thread again.

V8=8 CYLINDERS-RUNS 3 SECS. FULL TILT
I4=4 CYLINDERS-RUNS 6 SECS. FULL TILT

I4 + 4 MORE CYLINDERS-RUNS 3 SECS. FULL TILT
DOUBLE THE CYLINDERS RUNS HALF THE TIME

Makes sense to me
