Both motors deserve a lot of respect. Maybe you realize the amount of power. Shaving off that .7 seconds requires something a bit more than 500HP assumming both cars were the same weight (~2500lbs). As I hardly doubt that was the case, I'm sure the V8 put out close to a thousand more HP to shave that .7 off. Hell, if his car even HAD 500HP itd probably be in the low 11s or the high 10s. I'm telling you, its a completly different ballgame.

well anything goin that fast i am impressed with no matter how many cylinders it is....but you gotta realize how much more hp the v8 is makin over the 4 cylinder to go that much faster, it doesnt seem like alot but it is.

I'm aware of the way it works... it wasn't downing the comparision as far as seconds just I would think the v8 would of out performed more. Gaining a couple/few seconds everytime you go to the track I would be impressed because it is hard to shave a few seconds. Either way both RWD and 6 sec. is insane and if I were the driver and I would come out of the car with my pants covered in piss lol.

One day as an engineer, I'm SOOO going to make an inline "6G63" and an "8G63" and see what it can do

As usual, V8 performance wins...in this case by like 2/3 of a second...which when you're that fast is a FUCKLOAD. We're talking about 4-cyls though. Don't try and compare the damn thing to a motor twice its size. There is no comparison.
I thought it was this guy. Wheel to Wheel Powertrain
The only thing i could find that eddy lyons drove to a 6.26 was a dragster.
But my point was not that a 4g63 can make more power or is better than the ls1. But that to say half a ls1 is better than a 4g63 is stupid.

Indeed. An LS1 itself is barely better anyways with 5.7L...7 banger or V6 version may be interesting...

The fact is you dont have to make excuses like "well what if it had less displacement or more cylinders or something". Because its that damn good.

seriously did you miss the part where it trapped 20mph higher than the DSM?

Seriously no one mentioned it trapped 20mph higher then the DSM. You are the first to mention it. A DSM running 6.xx is great... and I give credit where it is deserved.
