Question Is driving without power steering really that bad?

I might be getting a car without power steering and I was just wondering how much of a pain it actually is. Does it make driving a whole lot harder than driving a car w/ PS? For the guys that have driven cars w/ out PS, would you get another car without it? Can you feel a noticable difference between w/ and w/out it when just driving in a straight line or for example the intersate.. or can you only feel it when making turns, u-turns, etc..?

Any help would be appreciated - Thanks.

My EK Hatch doesn't have it and it feels like I have more control in the turnes and at high speeds. I think its fine on a car you drive on the weekends and or race. It only sucks when backing in and manuevering at low speeds.

Its not bad once the car is actually moving atleast above 5-10mph. If your rolling lower then that turning the wheel can be a pain.

My crx doesn't have it. It's a light car so it's really not bad. I agree that at 5-10 mph it is a bit hard. But when I'm changing lanes and stuff even at 40 it's very responsive I would say even more than power steering.

You'll only notice it's hard to turn the wheel at low speeds or at a stop. Above 10mph it's no different than powersteering and you have a better feel for the road.

having a car without power steering, and a car that HAS a power steering rack/pinion with a bad pump or whatever is 2 different things.

non power steering racks are lubricated, and arent nearly as tough as a power steering rack that has no lubrication.

but no power steering isnt bad at all, you wont even notice it unless parking.
