btw my "gas guzzler v8" gets 20mpg through an automatic with a 10" convertor, bolt-ons, and running pig rich

wow, why is everyone hating on the srt-4? Only one owner chimed in. I bought a 03 srt-4 with 40,000 miles for 14,500 with an extended warranty ( I can take my car to any shop) I have a stage 2, full 3" turbo back. agp wga.
Yes, buy a srt-4! One advice I'll give you is know what your doing with the car. Check out srtforums.com and read. P.S I done a few new mods anyone want to see what a neon can do? Hit me up.

actually yes i have. in a friends civic hatch. i never said "shitty oconomy cars" cant drive. i gave them theyre respect. did i not say that poeple have been able to do some cool things with them? my point was, when honda designes a new civic unibody they DO NOT make it with intentions of scca racing or any kind of racing for that matter. same for the neon, cavalier, focus. when toyota designed the ae86 it was on there minds to make a great handeling car. same for the corvette, miata, s2000 solstace, ect. theres is one common reason a company actually makes the effort to design a rwd, and that performance. i dont think any company sits at the drawing board and says "lets make a great handeling FF car for the sports car market". sounds funny right? there are some FF cars that have performance trim levels, neon/srt4, integra/type r, cobalt/SS and others. but those are merely trim levels that make a grocery getter more appealing to the youth market. nothing past extra power and some braking/susp mods. and maybe a "mad tight" system.
FF cars = FAIL.
RWD cars = badass.
FF cars = FAIL.

Also, take the new Civic Si. Before that thing was even on the showroom floor, Honda campaigned it in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, where it won overall, capturing 1st and 2nd place, beating out a LOT of RWD cars.
You're just plain ignorant, and nothing I say can fix that.

I have had 2, and have had 0 problems with the car. My old one was modded and ran like a champ. My new one is more so modded then the last one and have still had 0 problems. Just dont beat the shit out of it like most ricers do. I drive my SRT almost daily and I honestly hardly ever get on it.
As far as all skittles being called lemons? BS the same motor but AWD is going to be in the caliber. Plus the motor has been around before it was in the SRT4. Anytime you mod the car and are making a good amount of power (which these cars do IMO ESP. for such little money) you can break things. BUT once again I will default to what I said before, its all in how you are going to treat your car.
YES its a NEON but so what if you like it get it, if you already know you are going to be unhappy with it and want an EVO really soon do yourself a favor and save for the EVO.

and im not even hating on honda. i like them so much im buying an s2k. its just that i really dont care for fwd, just the way it feels. also toyota strapped in the 4ag 16 valve in the ae86 chassis for testing long before they where concerned with putting a 4ac beater in it. theres no way that car can handle like it does without already being a made for it from the factory.

I made the mistake of buying an unreliable car while in college and have learned from my mistakes. I now drive a corolla. I have more money to spend going out, can fit 5 of my friends in my car, and get 38mpg.
