when the FF layout was engineered it was made for safety, affordability, and chicks. over the years people have learned to tweak FF layout cars to do some cool things but really the FF car was never meant for this type of driving. a few things most FF cars bring to the table naturally is poor launching, limeted engine space, and understeer. i dont think any FF chassis has ever been made to perform on the track in stock trim level. just look at the srt-4, its built on a modified PT cruiser chassis. if you just need a car for dailydriving then it doesnt matter. but no matter what im driving it has to be rwd. id rather be on the edge of over steer coming around a corner than hoppping around the apex (understeer). for the money, get something with the power to the rear.

There are many many many better cars you can buy for 13k then a srt4...
Much more reliable, better looking, not as common, with stronger engines and perform the same.
That said, I won't deny the Skittle is a fast car.
Hell I bought my Z for 7k in amazing condition. You can get very great condition ones with 70-80k on them for less then 10k.
Another car I could suggest would be some type of cobra. I am sure there are some out there in that price range. Or a vette. mmmmm <3 vettes
