Do you know the actual owner of the car? The person who's name is on the title? If you do, it's fairly simple, get the guy to go to the DMV and do a fast title and a transfer and you have yourself a new car. I think it's a $37 charge to process the fast title.
Understand where you are coming from. The only thing is I don't believe they will give you information such as that at the DMV, but it's well worth a try.

That's the thing, without looking at the title, its tough to say who's name really is on the title. I'd get the VIN and go to the DMV and say "does Joe Blow own this car"? If they say no, then he has an answer.

Ok so i spoke to the kid today and he has the name and address for the last person who had the car registered so i think im gonna pick the car up and then work on getting the title from there. Oo and i live in N.y so i dont think florida fast title is an option
