Default Buying a Car without a title...

Okay so i have a chance to pick up a 96 Ek hatch for 1500 but theres no title i was wondering if anybody has ever been through this process before what all was involved in getting a new title and are there any places that you can recomend that i speak to Tia.

im gonna do that also but i know there are companys that can get duplicate titles has anybody ever had experiance with any of them??

Ok Before it gets out of control NO the car isent stolen i dont even have possesion of the car yet im just trying to find out the process of getting a new title before i decide to buy the car.

Do you know the actual owner of the car? The person who's name is on the title? If you do, it's fairly simple, get the guy to go to the DMV and do a fast title and a transfer and you have yourself a new car. I think it's a $37 charge to process the fast title.
