Default question about buy here pay here

If you have a car, that you are paying off. You have made all payments on time, and also paid more for each payment. The engine blows, and you give it back to them. Will it go on the credit? I say this because I still about 1000 on my miata. And well last night the motor started knocking. I want to keep it, but can't afford a new engine right now. If I turn it in, will it got on my credit?

take off the hardtop, set the car on fire, collect insurance

problem solved!

and BTW, that hardtop is worth ~$1000, so just sell it and the car is paid for...

It will not show on your Credit but you will not get any money back that you paid for. I would keep it and drive the car real nice, and just buy a used bottom end.

What makes you think you can just give it back? It's not like you borrowed it or are renting it . You signed a contract and I'm sure it did not say anywhere in there that you can give it back anytime you want just because you blew it up, you can't afford the car anymore, you got in over your head, or you don't want the headache of maintaining it anymore. Fucking Ridiculous

I sure hope it does, and it very well can. You owe $1000 on a car and you just want to give it back with a blown motor? And then you want the dealer to just eat that because he likes you, and not put that on your credit?
I just don't understand this mentality of "Just turn it in".

Why? Not everybody has high beacon scores or huge down payments to get conventional financing. Some car lots are shit, some car lots sell quality cars. Being a bh/ph lot doesn't automatically make a lot a shit lot. That being said, what the fuck does the car coming from a buy here pay here have to do with it? He's obviously had the car a while, this isn't something that blew up on the way home from the dealership, this is someone that beat the shit out of their car and tore it up.

As for the original poster. While I think your question is assinine, it is a valid question. Most people think bh/ph dealers don't report. Most people think bh/ph dealers just suck up their losses, fix it, and put it back on the lot. Unfortunately for you, bh/ph dealers are tired of being fucked by irresponsible shitty customers such as yourself tearing up cars and then sticking them with it. While every lot is different, there are A LOT of dealers that will sue you in small claims court and put a judgement on your credit. If you ever want to get regular financing on a car or a mortgage you'll be going back to the dealer to pay them off and get the judgement off your credit. Why not just suck it up, be a man, and live up to your financial obligations?

Jeez you sure wrote a lot about bh/ph if it doesn't have anything to do with it.
