Default Rush to judgement

So it is appearing that accusations of street racing in the recent tragic inncident might be unfounded.

People see what they want to see. Evidence that the "soccer moms" and haters can convict innocent motorists for street racing just about any time they want regardless of whether there was any participation.

Note: please keep this thread on topic. Topic being - unjust accusations by witnesses and the weight they carry by the law.

I think the old adage applies here.

"Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see."

Like you said people see what they want too see. Most people hear something and wont take time to think if it really happened or not.

I think all too often we just accept someones word because people want to believe them.

That's what I learned sitting in Taxpayers stadium watching the Bucs. Fans would cry foul while viewing the replay when the Jumbotron clearly showed otherwise.

The same thing happens on the roads, although Kender disagrees.

Yes, I do have more faith in the general public, the media...NO... but the general public, yes. Typically I am cynical, and not only is the glass half empty but it is laced with arsnic, however I hope that the it's water from the fountain of youth and is self-filling. reality is somewhere in the middle, half full or empty, it doesn't matter, it's water and it's from the tap so there are things in it, but not arsnic. simply put, prepare for the worst, hope for the best, realize reality is in the middle.

The type of people that would have stayed around to give there witness account, typically would be biased against imports, however the cops questioning is designed to weed out the biase. Also according to michelle the deputy that she talked to doesn't believe it was racing related.....so where is the media getting the street racer spin??? they are ignoring the sherrif's office and probably just using the comments they want from the redneck grandma in curlers. I have hope that people will do the right thing, but I expect the media to screw us. I already know that baynews9 will lie like crazy to benifit them.....they are a brighthouse company!

The tread if tf FFA shows the human side to this story, and while I didn't know cisco or michelle, this is now a family torn apart, and that I can relate to. My heart goes out to the family for this loss, I hope you can get the answers that your looking for.

Is this in regards to the crash on Bloomingdale? I have a comment if so, but didn't wanna look like a jackass if not!

kender, I wanted to ask you something off topic, but I'll start a new thread for that.

Anyway, the only thing I wanted to say, if it hadn't been said in the other thread is that, the last time I was there, the speed limit on Bloomingdale where I think the crash was is 45mph. You don't get the horrific damage that was seen in that crash in a 45mph head on collision. Yes, it's bad, but no..not THAT bad.

I highly doubt the driver was just minding his own business and driving the speed limit.

Oh, I lied. One more thing. Experience in driving was discussed in the other thread. The first thing I thought of when I saw his age wasn't driving experience but LIFE experience. You'd think a 28 year old would have a little better grasp on reality, on how PERMANENT your actions are, and how easily life is lost.

Sad.

I was leaning your way just based on the info at the time, but after reading the tf thread I get the feeling that he was definately smart enough not to be racing, speeding maybe...we all do.... but I suspect now, that it was more of the blue car was driving like an idiot and cut him off, causing cisco to swerve and something went terribly wrong. Read the entire thread....this guy was a dad, of what seems to be young kids, that more than anything tells me he would not be doing dumb stuff that would cause his little ones to grow up without him. I hope that my own kid never has to know how that feels.

after reading what the deputy has told michelle, just pissed me off even more in regards to the news and how fucked up they are.
