Rush to judgement
this makes you wonder how many of the other news headlines related to this topic are accurate. and if past ones were not accurate, you know we'll never here that corrected information in the end. i never really thought about that until this happened to cisco and this really made me think bc i know him and michele personally and i dont believe he would have done that. thats as much as i will say about that specific situation though since this thread needs to stay on the topic in general.

No prob, that thread gave fuel to the fire that the media is with out a doubt skewing the story. Not only is the news mis-reporting the event, they are ingnoring the police account at this point in time. even the cop says that he believes it wasn't a race, but the news doesn't want to hear it. At least the enquirer is know to be a tabloid.....but bay news 9, passing off as truth, what is a total bullshit fabrication. They mention all the good work the passengers of the corolla did, but nothing good about cisco, nothing about how his wife and family can attest that he raced on the track not the street. Do I know that he wasn't racing???? no, does the news know that he was????no, Do we even know the passengers in the corolla weren't some nazi war criminals that deserved the punishment???no....... All we can go off of is what we know, we know that the media doesn't care about the facts, they only care about what the public wants to hear......They are no better than some second rate "pro" wrestling organization, all acting, with a dash of truth.
Possible scenario. Light blue car is speeding, weaving in and out of traffic. Cisco is also speeding, but minding his own business. NOT racing, but both cars driving faster than the speed limit.
That could easily be mistaken for street racing, especially when people SEE the accident...emotions running, ya know?

This entire situation has been blown out of the water and disgusts me. If anyone should have fingers pointed at them, it's the people out there that DONT know what theyre doing, creating the bad stereotype we all have to live with. I met Cisco 7 years ago. He was one of the sweetest guys you'd ever meet. He was by no means a "street racer". Yes, he loved tuning imports, but he knew there was a time and place and that wasnt the street. Some of the posts on here make me sick. No one knows what really happened except the people involved, and since the guy(s) in the mystery blue car are nowhere to be found, we can only go by what we knew of Cisco and how he was....and he wasnt about being irresponsible and stupid on the street. Please have a heart before posting ignorant messages. He left behind a wonderful family and many friends. RIP Cisco <3
When Ian from Rockledge, FL died (my friend David had only swapped his engine in 3 days before) they called it a highway street race and when David went out there he couldn't deny it. The skid marks said it all. Ian wasn't a street racer, he loved Honda, couldn't wait for the turbo swap and took a chance on a desolate highway at midnight. The passenger survived, the WRX left the scene and the media, espc the Orlando Sentinnel, jumped on thier soap box not even bothering to get the simplest facts of the story.
So when it comes to choosing to listen to the media or people who were there I'll def choose people who were there.
RIP Ian

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Anyway, the only thing I wanted to say, if it hadn't been said in the other thread is that, the last time I was there, the speed limit on Bloomingdale where I think the crash was is 45mph. You don't get the horrific damage that was seen in that crash in a 45mph head on collision. Yes, it's bad, but no..not THAT bad.
I highly doubt the driver was just minding his own business and driving the speed limit.
Oh, I lied. One more thing. Experience in driving was discussed in the other thread. The first thing I thought of when I saw his age wasn't driving experience but LIFE experience. You'd think a 28 year old would have a little better grasp on reality, on how PERMANENT your actions are, and how easily life is lost.
Sad.

I know ABSOLUTELY nothing about the unfortunate accident. From the way you write this, it seems it was a head on collision.
You seem to think a head on collision at 45mph would not do much damage (Or as much).. However. Head-on implies both cars traveling at roughly the same speed as each other colliding. When this happens, in a extremely basic math equation... You basically double. Hitting someone head on at 45 mph is pretty much the same as hitting a wall at 90mph. Thats even granting they were going the speed limit. Most people do 5-10mph without thinking twice about it.
