I was looking for a chat like this also, I've got a shot at buying a 2000 civic Si with a salvage title missing the front sheet metal and the swap, price is dirt cheap, I know back home in NYC you'd have to get the car inspected by the state with all of the invoices for parts and submit them to the state, after a long ass wait for an appt, oh and you couldn't drive it to the inspection appt either. Is that the same for here in florida? I know a few people that register cars out here in FL and keep the cars up in NYC with FL tags like nothing ever happened.

they probally do that due to emission standards. Florida doesnt have any. I know a few people with RX7's that live in georga that register there cars in florida so they dont have to worry about the emissions.

Pretty much. I haven't been through the process myself, but yes, they want to inspect the car to make sure it's been fixed properly, and the documentation to make sure it's not stolen/built from stolen parts.
