thats b.s look at the say something thread..we have gotten that thing way off topic and back on it a couple times now..shit its over a 100 pages..i will even say i've gotten it way of topic.i posted all kinds of stuff from engine combos to food stuff.

like all the mods have said there are threads that we all dont care if they go on and off topic..but when it gets to tech stuff.i dont want to read oh i'm better then u of other 5th grade shit..i go in them to read the persons problem and give a responce if i can or read what every one else says.that way is it happens to me i can go hey wait so and so had that problem and so an so said this is how to fix it or get around it.

I usually lock something when the majority of the thread is made up of posts I would have to delete to get the thread back on track. If I can clean it up by batch deleting 5 or 6 posts and it can continue on successfully after that, I'll do it. But if it's gone into an argument deleting posts often doesn't stop the argument. And there's no way in hell I'm going to sort through trying to clean up 20+ bad posts to salvage 10 good ones. Leaves a very cluttered thread with all those deleted post placeholders, heh.

In response to Julian's link to a specific thread, I locked it because your question had been answered, and it was going way off topic, to random posts. And also, I was a bit annoyed over drama going on in the forum, and I was more inclined to lock threads than I usually am to try to put a stop to it.

this is the reason why ford tech is so popular, their mods allow them to go off-topic
some and create off-topic threads. so you feel more inclined to post in there as
opposed to "some" tech forums where you're afraid to post anything that isn't 100%
tech. ford tech is more of another forum than a technical forum.

Not a lot of teh other techs are frequented very often. Mitsu tech seems to have an influx of people lately. Ford tech is nice to read as well as some of the other techs.

Jordan does a fine job for the amount of time he has. I have already offered my services once to become a mod but at the time there was not much traffic in Mitsu tech.

People need to learn to let things go, it is the internet. I personally enjoy the direction that mitsu tech is heading. Instead of reading through a thread that has been beaten to death over and over, its nice to see new tech discussion every once and a while. This is not a popularity contest, which is something I feel people forget at times.
