but yeah I understand it's pretty much the epitome of Japanese automotive techology, but 99% of the "omg skyrine" nut hangers don't know what makes
it's special, they just kinda jump on the bandwagon and like it because other
people like it.

Seriously though, comparing a '53 Corvette or a '69 Camaro to any modern car is wrong in and of itself. Both are historical classics that helped shape modern cars today. Without the balls-out of the 60's muscle, there would be no Skyrines.
