Who's pissin'? My car hasn't won a race since my mom drove it home from the dealership in the summer of 1969.

Thats true, but not because of American muscle. If the Japanese ever cared about that back then, they didnt show it. The most powerful Japanese car back then had no more than 130 HP

The Japanese had their own "muscle", the Z cars of Nissan and the 2000GT/Celica for Toyota. They focused much more on technology rather than all power..they could handle fairly well, rather than the behemothes with torsion bars, 4 wheel drums (discs if you are lucky in front ), no power brakes or steering, live axles, and heavy metal, even with the Jap crap did have most of that too, they had less than a ton in their little tin box and thus usually handled better..America has many more straight roads and much more room for 1/4 mi and stoplight races, whereas they hand windey mountains and steep funness.

Despite my preferences for foreign cars, I'll always have a place in my heart for 74 GTOs, 67-69 Camaros, 69/70 Challengers and respect for 442s, Novas, Buick GSXs, etc.
