Default Complete Fuel System Cleaner question

On the bottle of the Valvo SynPower COMPLETE Fuel System Cleaner, it says to use it every 3,000mi or oil change. I heard that too much of the system cleaner can back up all of the left over dirt and grease into the fuel pump causing the fuel pump to get worse and later on getting messed up. Is this true? Or do I follow what the bottle tells me!?

Good question to send to the Valvoline Tech people. Let us know what you hear. Generally, I follow MFG directions.-Bob

I'd personally just start using ATF instead...change your fuel filter when the owners manual asks you to and pour in a quart before you fill up a full tank every 3-5k miles. That stuff works; if you dont believe me and dont want to try it, get a pan or something of it and dump some tools and whatnot in there...they'll be shiny clean again

i believe there is probly atleast a few thousand dollars of research done by vavoline to say only put this much in there
and i also think there is a good reason that on the back of a atf bottle it doesnt say pour this in your gas tank too!!
ive never had a problem dumping a full bottle in a full tank of gas but that doesnt mean it wont have long term effects but its easy for me to change a full pump

There isnt. People just dont think about it and dont try it. My automotive teacher who worked for GM for many many years before they dropped him for money uses it in all of his cars every time he changes the oil. His turbo Sprint has 300,000mi+ as well as his ol Chevy diesel, both of which get ATF. ATF burns ashless and is incredibly high in detergents. He's been doing it for years and gets 40-50 mpg easily in the mighty Sprint. I trust him the most of anyone I know, being he was ranked #1 teacher in the country once or twice

does it effect your gas with all the detergents? ive heard of alot of people using it but if it works so well why dont you see people that produce atf pour atf in a bottle throw another detergent in there so its not tech 100% atf and lable it as a fuel cleaner mark up the price as well and make more money?

im not saying your wrong dont take it as that but it just doesnt make sense to me

It doesnt directly affect the gas, but also look at the price of it...$5-$7 a quart. I think thats really why people dont; otherwise they are oblivious

Really? I never heard bad things about seafoam...except you gotta run that shit through and get it burned up and outta your system quickly or it'll eat the lines up...
