1 or 2 people that I trust hate it, and when you have something like ATF which has 100% approval and personal experience, I'd rather go ahead and skip the smokescreen of SeaFoam. I wouldnt know what was the regular smoke and the SeaFoam

I personally dont doubt SeaFoam..I've used it before. I'd just rather go ahead and try ATF

You guys need to stop mindlessly following this ATF BS( Dane and Lonnie). It's cheaper to SeaFoam, SeaFoam has been around for a LONG ASS time, used in basically every industry.

Not true. ATF is 2x cheaper.

Mindless? No, I wouldnt call it that. I've used it to clean my engine, fuel etc. as well as tools...when I'm bored at work, I drip some some from the power steering reservoir on the reservoir itself and wipe off all the crap buildup...the thing looks brand new.

The guy I'm talking about has all 5X ASE certifications. He worked with GM, Mercedes, etc. longer than you have been around. Been into cars just as long if not longer than you and I, hes just much older. Rated #1 teacher in the nation once or twice..the top 8 regional SkillsUSA placed students were all taught by him, and there wasnt any cheating nor do we focus very much on the SkillsUSA competition itself.

The guy has credibility dude

Like I said, I'm not against seafoam. Its been around for over 50 years...decades and decades. People used it in their muscle cars and even earlier. I just prefer ATF, thats all

ok this was bothering me so bad that i called up atleast 10 people that are in the car industry for a combined experiance of 1347 years and about 38 ase certifcations and the general consensus was you must be one supid son of a bitch to use atf regularly in a fuel system

i have a much safer idea. go to a dealership and buy a BG induction cleaning kit.theyre about 50 dollars, but you use it every 30000 miles.it comes with 3 items
1.=goes in your fuel tank, probably the best shit ive ever seen
2.=an aerosol can that you spray into your throttle body and in your intake manifold
3.=a can of stuff you feed directly into your fuel rail(s).all you have to do is remove your fuel pump relay or hit the inertia switch and kink off your return lines and your good to go.
I dont know a dealership in the world that doesnt use this stuff, and when i used it the first time in my 4.6, my gas mileage jumped at least 15%.that stuff is tits.....

marvel mystery oil, is probably atf because the stuff is red, and it cleans up your engine like crazy if you put some of it in.

running some water through a vac port on you manifold works great and is free. obviously you cant be an assclown and hydo-lock the engine.

how long till someone rehashes that putting acetone in the tank will improve gas mileage....

And how many of them actually give a damn what torque ratings mean? How many look in the service manual (unless if they have written some) for the correct answer/diagnosis for something? What about regular service bulletins?

You can easily talk to 50 people, all of which just have the basic 8 ASE certifications, and all of which could be older guys who dont know exactly what they were doing. When the guy taught General Motor's lead techs in STG, ranked in the upper echelon of all ratings, and has 52 of his OWN seperate ASEs rather than combined score...when ANYBODY in Sarasota county car related has a problem and is willing to take anything from the original owner of a 1966 Corvair to a $250,000 Maserati Indy to him to get it working and running right...I'd have to say he takes the cake and trumps people who havent actually tried it.

He's been doing this for years. Its not like he randomly started.

If you dont want to put it in your engine, fine, I'm not forcing you to. Just take some old dirty tools you have and dip them in ATF, whipe them off, and tell me it doesnt clean shit well. Hell every BMW I touch with an ATF PS reservoir I take out the dipstick and drip one or two drops on the outside reservoir which is dirty from the vent on the cap, then whipe it down and it literally looks brand new. CHF 11S doesnt do that, and I doubt power steering does either.

Now THAT is an ignorant comment. If you knew a damn about auto trannys, you'd know the oil galleries in them are incredibly tiny and cant afford to be clogged at all; one of the reasons ATF is high in detergents. Check out an MSDS sheet (if you even know what that is) or find out the ingredients of ATF...being high in detergents pretty much means it's meant to clean shit...

Water will also work if you arent a dumbass and hydrolock your engine...it'll steam clean the combustion chamber etc.
