well first i wasnt speeding , i was the only car out it was 1:15am when he wrote the ticket he gave me a moving violation cuz he couldnt prove my speed and yes he is calling the speed sign a device which would kinda make sence if i was but he said when he gave me the ticket that he is a certified laser and (soemthing) operator which in his words he said that he is trained to see how fast your going... :/ but yes i do plan on going back and measuring cuz it was maybe a block if not a block and 1/2 and i drive a cavalier not that fast yet! lol but another factor is i have exhaust on my car so it makes it sound like ur going faster then u rly are u know thanks for all the help and non help i will keep posted thanks again.....

If he is a qualified laser/radar operator then where was his gun??? even still that doesn't mean he is qualified to say you were going xxmiles an hour. now if you were in a 25mph zone and were doing like 50mph then he could say you were doing above the speed limit, anybody can judge that, but if you were in a 45mph and even doing 50mph he can't say that you were speeding just on sight alone.

Another fun fact. in the 316 statutes it states that a cop can't use the radar gun alone to prove you were speeding, he must make an independant visual observation that would indicate your speed and it must be at a place that he can be certain you are the car the gun is reading. so on the hwy in a pack of several cars, all going 80mph and he clock you, he has no other evidence, you were with traffic not faster and other cars were close enough that he can't be sure it was you.

In your case you were alone, so it was you he heard, however you can be at 6krpms in first and doing 20mph but he hears 50mph. let us know how hard the judge smacks this idiot for wasting time. aren't the newer cavelier 1/4 times like 15.5sec at 88mph or something close.

yea im going to just going to take sometime i guess i never went to court for a ticket be4 so i d k how long it will take but we will find out.........

 

haha i go 3 yrs without any tickets but i just got 3 in a week i just got 2more tonite and 2warnings fun shit huh 1 for having blackouts on my headlights and the second one for having too dark of window tint and 2warnings on my tag light is out and another bullshit one not bad i wounder what i get next week

 

u know what i was sitting around last nite talking with some friends and they said they noticed as soon as they put rims on there car they started to get pulled over and get tickets i just put rims on my car 2-3wks ago and ive been getting pulled over odd huh? anyone else experience this problem happening to them?
