need advice
WOW! thank you very much. i had no idea it was that good of gas mileage for the mustang. and that bad of mileage for the g20.. why would a non turbo 2.0L engine only get those numbers?

My first choice would be Impreza, no doubt.
I woudln't get a VW because, while they're great when bought new, they are pretty much a legacy of headaches used IMO def, not worth it with out 4x4 up there. The Civic would be fine, but there isn't a lot of clearence stock for chains. My cousin on the Cape got rid of his for this reason.
The G20, Teg and Civic have varying interiors, but for all practical reasons are very similar. You'll probably get the best milage out of the Civic/Teg.
The v6 Stang—the only thing this car has going for it IMO is RWD. It's middle of the road as far as mileage, styling and build-quality compared to the rest of your list.

personally i would by the jetta, my friend has had her for 4 yrs now with no problems, she takes it to the dealer for maintance and its runs just like the day she bought it. ITs a VR6 and has 110k mile on it no and its a 2000 and it runs great
