Need a little help.
Okay Saturday I just get back from Gasparilla (sucked). Then my friends all say they want to go to Gandy, im like fuck that, they say ok, we will do somthing else. I proceed to follow them and they take me to Gandy anyways (AWESOME FRIENDS HUH!). Well I was going to turn around and say screw it i'll just go home, as I try to call them I realize one of them has my phone YAY! We approach a cop at a stop light and my friend has a busted out headlight. I watched the cop stare down his car as we passed. Sure enough cop dose a U-Turn and proceeds to follow him. Then pulls to the side of the road and get's behind me. And some how I get pulled over YAY! Cop comes up and says "is this your car?" I say yes. Then asks me "are you aware your licence has been suspended" honestly I said no I was not aware. Then he asks to search my car and I let him. Im being real nice cause I honestly had no idea my licence had been suspended. I ask him why it was suspended he replies "12 points in 12 months". Damn that sucks lol.
Well then he says I need to go to the place on bush where you pay your tickets and schedule a day to go to court to tell the judge my case. If i dont do it soon they can make a warrant out for my arrest. So basically what I want to know is if I should get a lawyer and do something about it OR just make an apperence by myself tell the judge blah blah blah and take it. Also I was wondering if I could get a "Temp" licence to just drive to and from work, becuase I work 5 days a week and would like to keep my job
. So if anyone else has had any familar exp with this type of situation please tell me what you did and how everything worked out. Thanks

you can get a license for driving to work and school. Call that place on bush and see if they can give you more info on how to do it. Dont let the cop pressure you into going to court unprepared. Schedule a date that gives you enough time to get yourself a lawyer. Thinks always go much smoother with a lawyer.
Yeah thats true. The cop also gave me a ticket and when I asked how much it was he told me "It's for the judge to decide" so anyone who has had the same thing happen how much was your ticket? Thanks again

Get a lawyer; I don't care if they have a video of you doing burnouts in front of a church; you need a lawyer anytime you go into a courtroom.
One more thing: don't ever give the cops any information about yourself, or what you had been doing, until the cop outlines EXACTLY why s/he has pulled you over. They need to have probable cause to investigate any vehicle, including its driver. If the cop doesn't tell you what you've been pulled over for, demand to see his/her supervisor.. Don't budge an inch; cops these days think they can intimidate anyone they want to, when the law just isn't on their side of things. Don't accept "just a routine stop" either- there is no such thing as a routine stop. They have to inform you of exactly what they've stopped you for, or they are violating your right to freedom from unreasonable search/seizure. Never, EVER authorize a cop to search your vehicle, either; make them show you a warrant, or explain why they believe they have reasonable suspicion. (you looking nervous/shaky/scared is not a valid reason, btw) Any time you get pulled over, the first thing you do is ask to see the officers ID; and make sure they see you writing their information down. If they refuse to give you their ID, Drive Away! (when you are later arrested for flee/eluding, say nothing until you see your lawyer, then tell your lawyer that you had been pulled over by a cop who refused to identify him/herself, and were concerned for your personal safety.. you will be out of jail in no time at all, and likely be able to file a lawsuit against the police department)
The above is legal advice given to me after I was arrested for my 3rd DWLS...
As for your current situation, you are likely fugged; DWLS (Driving While License Suspended), you weren't on your way to-from work when pulled over, so they probably won't allow you to have a restricted license. A good lawyer will be able to get a temp license for you though.. GET A LAWYER

I believe that in order for you to be convicted of DWLS, you have to have prior knowlege that your license is suspended; either by a notice from the DMV, or because you had already been informed due to prior conviction. Any decent lawyer will be able to get this charge dropped/reduced, if not dismissed altogether.
I would get on your "friends" to help you pay for the lawyer and ticket, too.. You warned them about going there, and you got popped.. they are partly responsible for what happened.

Meh, I just wanted to get things done as simple as possible he could have been a real dick and given me an exhaust ticket and prolly pulled some more things out of his ass.
