If you read the thread in Bike Tech, they were not racing. Apparently they were cruising at about 80 and an old lady pulled out in front of him. That's third-hand info, but sounds more likely than racing on DM!

either way 80 is damn near double the speed limit. if they were cruising and not racing i guess i can see why the other guy ran.

Even if some jackass is going 100+, running from a cop so he wont get a ticket or something, then t-bones a car at an intersection, it'll still be the person in the car's fault.
And if it was a pack of bikers going 80 - 90, how come only 1 person hit the car? I would think that alot more would be taken out.....

This is why I'll never get a sport bike. Seems like they have a way of bringing out the dumbass in you. I feel sorry for the guy and his friends and family. Hopefully the other guy will come forth. Guilt has to be eating him up. Like someone else said, the bike community is huge now. I'm sure there's plenty of bikers out there that know who the other guy was.
