I heard this on the radio the other day. They required Toyota to make a pushrod, OHV, V8 engine, since they only have DOHC V8's, just to compete. NASCAR - National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. What is stock about a company making an engine specifically for racing in NASCAR; moreover, can somebody show me any year in which a Camry came stock with a V8 at all? I'm glad I'm not a NASCAR fan, but if Toyota ever makes it into the NHRA, I'm officially done with motorsports all together.

Frank, that arguement is out the door because nobody is running anything remotely similar to a stock vehicle right now. Dodge is the ONLY one campaigning a car based on a RWD V-8 platform, but then they are running the same body as everyone else only it has dodge decals on it. I knew it was the beginning of the end when they started running cars that were based on FWD platforms. I was young, but when I first saw it I was like, "what the fuck are they doing?!?" At least then the bodies were similar to what was available at the dealer. Every year they move farther and farther from stock. Personally, I don't think anything based on a V-6 FWD car should be allowed, period.
